Queenland tour
The Queensland tour is extremely varied. You get to see the many
different faces this state has to offer. You will travel both along
the Pacific Coast and through the inland, and experience various
types of landscape; hills, arable land, woods, rainforest, sugarcane
fields and wonderful bays and coastline, and some beautiful
panoramic views. You can also visit a number of National Parks, for
example Eungella in Central Queensland, where you can see freshwater
tortoises and platypuses from close up. Included in the route inland
are the Darling Downs, the South Burnett and the Atherton Tablelands.
Descend a winding road to Rockhampton, and continue onto Yeppoon on
the Capricorn Coast, from where you make a day trip to Great Keppel
Island. Here you will find peaceful beaches and numerous footpaths.
Stop near Townsville at some magnificent bays for a refreshing dip.
From Townsville you visit Magnetic Island, where a Moke awaits you.
Enjoy a day cruise to Long, Daydream and Hamilton Island on the
Whitsunday archipelago. From Cairns you take a day cruise by
catamaran to the Outer Reef. In Far North Queensland you step aboard
for a river cruise, and approach crocodiles and snakes to within
just a few metres. In the south of the state you visit beautifully
situated little-known villages. You stay at beautiful campsites,
some of which are situated at sea. On or near the campsites you will
come face to face with kangaroos, koala’s, kookaburras, Rainbow
Lorikeets and King Parrots. You can also see emus, camels and
dolphins during this tour and, depending on the season, whales.
From Hervey Bay you take a transfer across the Great Sandy Straits
via the “Fraser Down” to magnificent Fraser Island, where you
discover the beauty of the world’s largest sand island in a 4WD tour
coach during a full day.
The Queensland tour is a mix of tourist highlights and little
visited places, and is a wonderfully peaceful way to explore this
enormous state.
