South-east tour
This tour through south-east Australia begins either in Melbourne or
Sydney. You travel along wonderful coastlines with surfbeaches,
through mountainous areas, National Parks, woods and valleys. A part
of the tour goes through the inland. During the tour you visit a
cave system and a beautiful national park where giant tree ferns
grow. You make two evening walks during which you look for all kinds
of nocturnal animals in Murramarang and Yarra Ranges National Park
and you will visit a glow worm colony nearby Sydney.
You will visit also a private Wombat sanctuary, which is very nice
and educative. Enjoy the wonderful panoramic views in the Blue
Mountains or in Gippsland, with its beautiful hilly landscape. Visit
one of Victoria's best kept secrets. You will meet marsupials, such
as kangaroos and possums, on the campsites. An abundant birdlife is
to be found on some campgrounds, especially Crimson Rosellas and
King Parrots. With a bit of luck you will see a platypus or hear a
Lyrebird close by. During this tour you spend a day in the capital
of Australia, Canberra. On the Pacific Coast you can take a cruise
to an island to see penguins and seals close up, a good alternative
to the touristy Phillip Island. If you travel in October or November
you may be lucky enough to see whales. This is a relaxed way to
travel through south-east Australia!
